Will there be multiple groups/casts this summer?

During the pandemic NYS required us to split camps into smaller groups for social distancing. Although that is not the requirement anymore, there were elements of this structure our team felt worked very well. Many of our KIDS camps will have two casts allowing more students opportunities to perform.

The groups will attend the same camp with same dates/times/location, but will put on two separate productions of the same show. Each cast will receive two of the four listed performances. Group determination, along with which performances each group will have, will take place after auditions on the first day of camp.

What does a normal day at camp look like?
Each camp starts off on day one with introductions and “getting to know you” games to immediately start friendships and team building for the many days to come. The camp will be divided into smaller groups to learn a short song and dance for auditions. Later in the day, campers will audition for the directors by singing, acting, and dancing – ending with a read-through of the script. By day two, all campers will know which roles they are playing and jump into learning the show! Campers will stay actively engaged the entire camp day with a few short snack breaks and a longer lunch break. Week two, campers will move to the stage and begin preparing for performances.
What will the kids do for lunch?
We take a short 30-minute break for lunch each day. We ask campers to bring a bagged lunch with them, please be sensitive to food allergies (no nuts please). Our Snack Shack will be open before camp, after camp, and at lunch for campers to purchase candy, chips, and beverages. Additional special snack and lunch opportunities will be announced as we get closer to camps.
Does my child need to prepare anything for auditions?
Nope! We will teach them a short song and dance from the show on day one when they arrive. We just ask that they are familiar with the show (watch the movie or on Youtube). However, you can attend one of our Audition Workshops by CLICKING HERE.
If there are auditions, is it possible my child won't be in the show?
Every camper who registers for camp will automatically be in the show. There are no cuts in our program. Auditions are to determine who is playing which parts. Everyone will be on stage several times throughout the show, no matter which role(s) they receive.
Is 9AM-3PM too long for my child to be in camp for rehearsals?
We have found that the 9AM-1PM time frame for the Pint Sized campers, and 9AM-3PM for the Kid and Teen campers is the perfect amount of time to have fun while putting together a quality production. We will take breaks during the day, play games, and enjoy snacks. The students switch between dance, singing, and other activities frequently, with extremely limited amounts of “down time.”
What is the policy on age brackets?
Age brackets for our Pint-Sized, Kids, and Teen camps are guidelines based on past summer offerings and student interest. There is flexibility in the age brackets if your child is more suited for a younger program, a slightly older program, or would like to be placed with a sibling. Please note that some age brackets for certain camps are wider or more condensed than the header at the top of the page. Contact us if you have a question regarding where to place your child.
My child is slightly younger/older than the listed age group for the camp they want to sign up for. Can you make an exception?
We are flexible on the ages of campers within reason. Oftentimes we see siblings that want to stay together for the same camp, or want one more year in the younger age group before moving up. Or the opposite, campers who want to move up with the older students faster. We understand every student is different, and as long as your family is comfortable with the material, we are fine with your child enrolling.
Are there refunds on tuition?

Are there cap sizes on camps?

I have to be at work before 9AM (or) I don't get of work until 5PM. What do I do?

OFC’s Acknowledgment:
We are gathered in ancestral territory of the Onöndowa’ga, or “the people of the Great Hill.” In English, they are known as Seneca people, “the keeper of the western door.” Together, with the Mohawk, Cayuga, Onondaga, Oneida, and Tuscarora, the Seneca make up the sovereign Haudenosaunee Confederacy. We pay respects to their elders, past and present. Please take a moment to consider the many legacies of violence, displacement, genocide, and migration that bring us together here today. Please join us in uncovering such truths at any and all public events.
