Education:
- Before the trip, students will spend 5 intensive rehearsals mounting a 20-minute Disney Medley working with OFC staff members. Through song and dance, students will perform at a level of Disney professional caliber
- Before the trip, students will get to speak with former Disney cast members on their experience and what to look for while in Disney
- On the trip, students will participate as part of the Disney Imagination Campus Masterclass. Get an inside look at the fundamentals of musical theatre with industry Disney professionals who will lead students through fast-paced rehearsals of a scene from one of Disney’s world-famous shows. Throughout this workshop, participants will also gain valuable insights into audition techniques, the importance of every role, and overcoming unexpected obstacles during performances.
- On the trip, students will perform their 20-minute Disney Medley on stage for the public at Disney Springs. This performance will be one to remember!
- On the trip there will be countless other performing arts educational experiences that students will have the option of participating in. Full details on these will be shared with students prior to the bootcamp.
- When not participating in workshops or performances, students will be able to ride attractions, experience live shows, and of course enjoy the fireworks and nighttime spectaculars! There will be no park hopping on this trip, participants will be at one park per day.
Who Is Involved:
- As Disney World fanatics, Eric Johnson and Hunter Ekberg travel to Disney World multiple times a year. As a “home away from home” Eric and Hunter want to share the magic they’ve learned about the performing arts through Disney and how they’ve encompassed that into OFC Creations
- Teressa Bala will be organizing and managing the trip. Teressa has organized over 10 trips for public school music programs, sport groups, and now OFC! She knows how to get the best bang for our buck and make sure we don’t miss out on the best of what Disney has to offer. She will also be joining us on the trip.
- 20 to 50 students will be accepted into the program and will work with Hunter Ekberg and Caeli Carroll in the Disney Show Choir Bootcamp.
- While on the trip, students will be separated into groups of 4 for rooming and exploring the parks. Students are encouraged to request who they want in their groups; we will strive to accommodate all requests.
- Adult chaperons will lead the trip by Eric Johnson, Hunter Ekberg, Caeli Carroll, Teressa Bala and other OFC staff. We will not be accepting chaperone requests. While chaperones will not be physically with their students the entire time in the park, predetermined check in times will be scheduled for student groups to meet up with their chaperone. Disney World Employees also have direct access to OFC chaperones while students are in the parks, so any student that approaches a Disney cast member with an issue will reach the OFC chaperone.
- For budget and planning purposes, parents/families of students cannot travel as part of our program. However, if families are interested in coming, we encourage them to book similar flights/hotel and can meet up with their student in the parks, at our performance in Disney Springs, and for dinners.
